Imagine Cup Road Shows

November 11, 2009 00:22 by eugene

Hey guys! For the past few weeks we have been frequenting schools sharing experiences about Imagine Cup, as well as technologies and innovations you can use for your Imagine Cup entries. So far we've been to Nanyang Technological University, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic. It's always a great feeling sharing technologies that can potentially solve world problems and seeing eyes lighting up as well as light bulbs spark. Hope you guys step up to the challenge and join Imagine Cup. The prestige, prize and challenge is all there right in front of you. Now it's up to you to take the opportunity and get cracking on those amazing ideas.

Some pictures below.

Imagine Cup BootCamp

October 27, 2009 01:55 by eugene

Last Saturday, October 24 '09, we held the Imagine Cup Boot Camp held at the Microsoft Auditorium. Around 200 students came and learned a lot about Imagine Cup and how they can be successful.

We had a great line-up of speakers from Microsoft and one of the previous judges Andrew Carmondy. Also, the past winners from Imagine Cup 09 was there to share his experience on the last Imagine Cup.

A lot of the students enjoyed the insights of the previous judge and hopefully it inspired a lot of students to join Imagine Cup 2010. See you guys in the next event! :)

I'm excited about Imagine Cup and hope to hear from you soon.

Imagine Cup 2009 World Finals at Cairo – A memorable experience!

July 23, 2009 17:11 by pratibha

Imagine Cup – like I always said is a journey, but after attending the world finals at Cairo, I can easily say it is a journey with a fantastic end! It is an end  that everyone of you readers would love to experience. The world finals event that has been heavily blogged and talked about all over the internet so I thought instead of just telling you what happened there, let me give you my take on the key highlights of this great event -

  • Amazing experience of meeting more than 400 students from over 70 countries, students with similar passion for technology and similar zeal to win. I personally feel honored to be there amongst the best of the world and was totally fascinated to see some of the most interesting applications of technology
  • Awesome opportunity to be sitting in the audience and listening to some of the most senior and accomplished leaders at Microsoft including Mr. Ray Ozzie, who is the successor to Bill Gates at Microsoft and has created some of the finest software himself including Lotus Notes and Groove.
  • Sight seeing around Egypt was also a stunning experience, cannot still believe we were at the awards ceremony which was held right in front of the pyramids, a monument that stands 5000 yrs old, was truly a fascinating experience.
  • Last but not the least, the fact that amongst the 450 odd students sitting in the audience at the awards function holding their national flag in anticipation of the results, two student teams from Singapore had the honor of running up the stage to flash their national flag high! Great work guys, you did all of us proud:) We won the second prize in both Photography and mashup categories.

Here are some of the pictures of the world finals at Cairo-

I am in awe of this competition, completely! And I am already looking forward to the next stop of Imagine Cup, which would be Imagine Cup 2010 at Poland! I hope many more amongst the Singapore students grab this opportunity, guys believe me you don’t want to miss this!
